Moto Weteran Bazar 2015 - 17.01.2015

Mój pierwszy Moto Weteran Bazar, połączony z Wystawą Pojazdów Militarnych i Grup Rekonstrukcji Historycznej, odwiedziłem razem z Tatą będąc uczniem IV klasy liceum. To był 2002 rok. Do domu wróciłem z wypiekami na twarzy i wybitym nieśmiertelnikiem. Od tej pory, co roku jestem na Moto Weteran Bazarze, by spędzić choć trochę czasu wśród pasjonatów historii i uzbrojenia. Każda kolejna odsłona to okazja do spotkania nieobecnej wcześniej grupy rekonstrukcyjnej, zobaczenia nowego sprzętu czy dotknięcia innego kawałka historii.

My first Moto Weteran Bazar with the Exhibition of Military Vehicles and Re-Enactment Groups I visited with my Dad when I was in the 4th grade of the secondary school. It was 2002. I returned home excited like hell, with dog-tags as souvenirs. Since that time, I have been tehre each year to spend some time among enthusiasts of history and military. Every edition is an opportunity to meet a group that came there for the first time, see new equipment or touch a different piece of history.

W tym roku wybrałem się już 14. raz, z nadzieją, że będę miał okazję zobaczyć starą ekipę i być może kogoś nowego. Niestety, grup rekonstrukcyjnych było niewiele. Jak zawsze profesjonalnie przygotowani, z ciekawymi ekspozycjami, gotowi zastrzelić każdego wiedzą i ciekawostkami, ale z niewielką liczbą stoisk. Moto Weteran Bazar to jednak głównie impreza handlowa, grupy rekonstrukcyjne wydają się tam być dodatkiem, a przecież to właśnie one przyciągają ludzi, skupiają najwięcej uwagi. Bo gdzie indziej mielibyśmy okazję spotkać "Mudżahedinów" z okresu interwencji Związku Radzieckiego w Afganistanie czy zajrzeć do bunkra żołnierzy amerykańskich, jaki możemy kojarzyć z filmu "Pluton" (1986) Olivera Stone'a? Grupy rekonstrukcyjne to właśnie umożliwiają!

This year I went to the 14th edition with hope that I would see the "old breed" and maybe someone new. Unfortunately, there were only few re-enactment groups. As usual, prepared professionally, with interesting exhibitions, ready to open fire with their knowledge and tidbits, but with a small number of stands. The Moto Weteran Bazar is in great majority a commercial event and re-enactment groups seem to be only an additional entertainment while they in fact attract people to come, focus most of visitors' attention. Is there any place where we would have an opportunity to meet "Mujahideen fighters" from the era of the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan or take a closer look at the American G.I.'s bunker that we might know from Oliver Stone's "Platoon" (1986)? The re-enactment groups make that happen!

Obóz Mudżahedinów, czyli chłopaków z GRH Hindukush, którzy niestety nie dali rady przyjechać w tym roku (zdjęcie z poprzedniej edycji). You can see, among other equipment, an AKM and AKS-74U assault rifles.

To właśnie one są przyszłością filmów wojennych. Ze swoją wiedzą i umiejętnościami oraz pasją do tego, co robią, rekonstruktorzy gwarantują najlepszą jakość scen bitewnych oraz odwzorowania realiów dla danego konfliktu pod kątem stroju, uzbrojenia, wyposażenia czy zachowania na polu walki. Jak zaprezentowali się w tym roku? Sami zobaczcie. 

These are the re-enactment groups that are the future of war dramas. With their knowledge and skills combined with great passion in what they to, re-enactors guarantee the highest quality of battle scenes and reproduction of realities in terms of clothing, weaponry, equipment and combat techniques on the battle fields. What did they present this year? See yourselves.

Zaczynamy od "Żołnierzy Świata", którzy co roku prezentują inną jednostkę. W ubiegłych latach odtwarzali m.in. żołnierzy biorących udział w wojnie w Wietnamie czy w interwencji Związku Radzieckiego w Afganistanie. Tym razem było nieco spokojniej - rekonstruktorzy, jako przedstawiciele różnych formacji sił zbrojnych USA, zasiedli do bożonarodzeniowego stołu.

Let's start with "Soldiers of the World" who present a different unit each year. Previously, they re-enacted e.g. troops that took part in the Vietnam War or the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan. This time it was a bit more peaceful - re-enactors, as representatives of various formations of the US military, sat together by the Christmas table.

Niedaleko można było spotkać chłopaków z GHR "Suomen Armeija", odtwarzającą armię Finlandii w trakcie Wojny Zimowej (Talvisota), ataku na ZSRR z siłami III Rzeszy, czyli Wojny Kontynuacyjnej (Jatkosota) oraz z okresu walk zmierzających do wyparcia niemieckich oddziałów z Laponii (Lapinsota) na przełomie 1944/45. 

Not so far one could find guys from GRH "Suomen Ameija", re-enacting the Finish Army during the Winter War (Talvisota), the attack on the Soviet Union with the Third Reich, that is the Continuation War (Jatkosota) and the fighting that was about to make the German retreat from the Lapland (Lapinota) in 1944/45.

Radziecka armata ppanc wz.1937 kalibru 45mm oraz karabin maszynowy Lahti Saloranta. LS/26. / A 45mm Soviet anti-tank gun wz. 1937 and a Lahti Soloranta LS/26 machine gun.

W zimowych klimatach stacjonowali żołnierze z 106. Dywizji Piechoty "Golden Lions", biorącej udział w bitwie o Ardeny w grudniu 1944 roku. Obok dzielnych Amerykańskich chłopców, na stoisku Stowarzyszenia Historycznego "V for Victory" można było spotkać pielęgniarki z Army Nurse Corps. Grupa, znana w środowisku rekonstruktorów, miała okazję brać udział w obchodach 70. rocznicy "Bitwy o Wybrzuszenie" w Ardenach.

Winter surrounded the soldiers of the 106th Infantry Division "Golden Lions", that took part in the fighting in the Ardennes in 1944. Apart from the courageous American boys, on the "V For Vitory" Historical Association's stand you could also meet girls from the Army Nurse Corps. The group, thanks to their recognition in the world of re-enactors, had an opportunity to participate in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes.

Nie zabrakło też ilustracji jednostek z początków II wojny światowej. GRH "Infanterie Regiment 73", rekonstruująca żołnierzy niemieckiej piechoty, zaprezentowała dioramę nawiązującą do walk we wrześniu 1939 roku .

There were also illustrations of units from the beginning of World War II. The GRH Infaterie Regiment 73, re-enacting soldiers of the German infantry, presented a diorama that refered to the fighting in September 1939.

Motocykl Zundapp KS 500, kaem MG34 i cała masa sprzętu.

Tuż obok stacjonował 28. pułk Strzelców Kaniowskich. Stowarzyszenie historyczne odtworzyło drużynę strzelecką, prezentując się w otoczeniu zabytkowych machin: dwóch czołgów zwiadowczych TKS oraz motocykli Sokół 1000 i Sokół 600. Główną atrakcją na stoisku był erkaem Browninga wz. 28.

Just around the corner you could find the 28th Riflement of Kaniów Regiment. The Historical Association re-enacted a riflemen squad, surrounded with machines from the era: two TKS recon tanks and motorcycles: Sokół 1000 and Sokół 600. The main attraction at their exhibitoin was a Browning wz. 28 light machine gun.

Sprzęt można też było zobaczyć na stoisku Biura Rekonstrukcyjno - Technologicznego. Ogromna część pojazdów zgromadzona na MWB pochodziła z kolekcji Pana Jacka Kopczyńskiego.

You could also find the equipment on the stand of the Reconstruction of Technology Office. Numerous vehicles presented at the MWB was borrowed from the collection of Mr. Jacek Kopczyński.

Rekonstrukcja historyczna kojarzy się przede wszystkim z II wojną światową, ale podczas Moto Weteran Bazaru są obecni także rekonstruktorzy wojsk z innych okresów. Jak np. GRH "Żelazny Orzeł", która zajmuje się przedstawieniem sylwetek pruskich i carskich żołnierzy walczących pod Łodzią w listopadzie i grudniu 1914 roku. 

Re-enactment is usually associated with World War 2, but during the Moto Weteran Bazar you can meet re-enactors presenting units from other periods. Such as the GRH "Iron Eagle" that focuses on the Prussian and Imperial soldiers that fought in the battle of Łódź in November and December 1914.

Rekonstrukcja historyczna to nie tylko broń, mundury i wyposażenie, ale również inne stroje i elementy z danej epoki - także ubrania cywili. / Re-enactment is not only about weapons, unifroms and equipment, but also about clothing and other elements from the era - including the civies.

I to by było na tyle. Zdjęcia oczywiście nie oddadzą tego, jak niezwykłym spotkaniem z historią jest taka wystawa. Bądźcie czujni - być może niedługo zobaczycie rekonstruktorów w jakimś filmie wojennym! Jak już mówiłem, są oni przyszłością tego gatunku. Ale nie tylko - są także źródłem wiedzy dla szkół, oferując spotkanie z "żywą historią", podróży w czasie. Pasjonatów historii i militariów nie brakuje, ale niewielu jest takich, którzy decydują się w pełni oddać pasji, bądź co bądź drogiej i często nierozumianej. To nie są przebieranki. Nie jest sztuką ubrać się w mundur i chodzić w kółko z karabinem. Sztuką jest wiedzieć wszystko o tym mundurze i broni oraz o tym, w czym brali udział ludzie je noszący przed kilkudziesięcioma laty. Obiektywnie, walcząc ze stereotypami. Nagrodą jest satysfakcja - możliwość spotkania podobnych pasjonatów, stworzenia czegoś, co zachęci ludzi do zgłębiania wiedzy o kulturze i historii, ale jednocześnie - przypomni, czym jest wojna. Bo my zapominamy, nie uczymy się na swoich błędach. Dlatego możliwe za 50-100 lat ktoś będzie rekonstruował żołnierzy z naszych czasów i wybuchających wokół nas zbrojnych konfliktów. 

And that's it. The photos, of course, won't reflect the true uniqueness of the exhibtion as an encounter with history. Stay frosty - maybe you will see those re-enactors in a war drama! As I said before - they are the future of the genre. And not only that - they are also a source of knowledge for schools as they offer an encounter with the living history, a journey in time. There are thousands of history and military enthusiasts, but there are only a few who decide to devote all their efforts to their passion - expensive and often not understood. It's not a fancy-dress ball. It's nothing special in getting dressed up in a uniform and running around with a rifle. The special thing is to know everything about the uniform and the rfile and the details that surrounded the people armed with the weapon and wearing the uniform long time ago. Obejctively and without harmful stereotypes. The reward is satisfaction - an opportunity to meet similar enthusiats and to create something that would encourage people to learn more about the culture and history and to remind at the same time what war really is. Because we tend to forget, we don't learn from our mistakes. So it is possible that in 50-100 years from now someone will re-enact soldiers of our times and still arising military conflicts.

And to call it a day, I would like to thank my Dad for the fact that he's been my companion at the Moto Weteran Bazar for 14 years. Without him, it would be just an exhibition.
